Values and Philosophy

I believe the work that I do as a counselor is part of a larger social justice framework that seeks healing.

When working together, I am sensitive to how oppression can impact mental health and identity. Individual healing is part of collective healing. The healing that people do in therapy to heal past traumas can bring us closer to being our authentic selves. In being our authentic selves, we can begin to build our lives in connection to the shared healing of the world and injustice.

Therapeutic Technique and Methodology

In my work, I use a variety of theoretical approaches to support the work of my clients. Above all, I am a relational therapist and client-focused therapist; the individual relationship between client and therapist is a starting point of healing, and the most important goal I have for my clients is to create a safe space to be and talk.

When working with gender identity issues and with queer, transgender, gender variant, and gender queer individuals, I am practiced at following the standards of care in WPATH and when using Informed Consent. Above all, I support clients to approach transition as they see fit. When working with couples I am kink-friendly and am experienced in negotiating polyamory.
